“ Dropped in hour hourish on a weeknight. Opted for some tri tip and hot links with baked beans and slaw. All delicious for home made. The hot links did have some strong after taste after digestion. Their sauces are not like others. Not strongly sweetened not heavy thick. One was very liquified and separated like a salad dressing. Another was pureee'd and salsa like. Did not get to try any cocktails or dessert, would love to see this place on a live music night. Will be back to try Hoe Cake, Chili, Cornbread, and more. ”
“ My first time visiting this place, and I am very happy with my experience. The restaurant is on the street that is studded with parking spots all along it. There was a live band playing music when we walked in. I'm not sure having such a loud set on a Sunday afternoon is such a great idea as it caused several customers to ask when it was over so they could come back then. It was indeed too loud, though they were a talented bunch. Onto the important part: the food! We ordered brisket, fried okra, baked beans, and the Hoe Cake. The brisket was probably the best one I'd ever had in my life... so juicy and tender. The okra was fried to perfection-crunchy on the outside and not dry on the inside. The baked beans were fantastic! I usually don't eat cornbread, but the Hoe Cake was smothered in honey and bacon- what a delight. I'd say the only thing that was off aside from the annoying music was our server seemed to not like being at work. That's never a great vibe. The other employees were very happy and sweet. All in all, we will be returning time and time again! ”
“ First time there with my coworkers for lunch. There's free parking lot at the corner and plenty on the street in front. The place was nice with seating indoor or outdoor. The food was delicious. I had a brisket sandwich with onion rings. The meat was so tender. Then we topped it off by sharing some desserts. Fried Twinkies, banana bread pudding. The service was also great. A must try place! ”
“ Great find! We wanted good food, an adult beverage, with a chill vibe. We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and the staff took great care of us. The beers were perfectly cold. I went with the Tri tip salad, so I could try the BBQ, but also be healthy. It was the perfect combo. If you are a karaoke enthusiast, this place will be your jam. ”
“ The restaurant is located in old town Newhall on Main St. Parking is available on the street and can be limited at times. Upon entering we were met immediately by friendly employees and sat at a nice corner table. Our server was the bartender and he took our drink order right away. His bartender skills were on point as he made a fantastic Long Island Iced Tea. They also have a good selection of craft beers on tap. They have both inside and outside seating. We sat inside at a table. Many folks chose to sit at the expansive bar inside. The menu is extensive and I had a tough time deciding on what to have. We ended up with the Hush Puppies, a half rack of baby back ribs, and a bacon cheeseburger. The hush puppies were fantastic, not too big and full of flavor. The ribs were huge, meaty, and had a wonderful smoky flavor. The burger was huge!! Overall, a fantastic meal and I can't wait to go back and try other menu items. ”
